Airtight Rectangular Storage Container, 7 L

If you like to prepare large quantities of food in advance for freezing, you are going to love this container. Its rectangular shape makes it easy to store and stack in a freezer and its silicone seal will prevent any air from entering. No freezer burn or strange new freezer tastes. Excellent for freezing fruits or vegetables from the fall harvest to use over the winter. A canning companion! Makes a handy bread box (works nicely with our organic cotton bread bag). If you need to bring a large quantity of food to an event, you will enjoy having this container which can be reheated directly on the stove top. And of course, it's a fabulous kitchen companion for greens or cut up veggies or for storing leftovers in the fridge.

An excellent product for the eco-conscious catering business or the family who loves to prepare food ahead of time!

The container is made of high quality, 18-8 food grade 304 stainless steel and has a non-removable, adhesive-free food grade silicone seal. It has a capacity is 7 litres, 1.85 gallons or about 30 cups. The four solid clips will ensure a tight seal.

It may be used in the freezer and the base can be washed in the dishwasher or re-heated in the oven or on a stove top - but not the lid! If you do heat the base, be very careful as it will be extremely hot to touch.

Been looking for this for years! Review by Diane
At last a contaier that holds 10 lbs of flour. Is airtight and will last a lifetime. I am planning to order more. Very pleased. The clips ate easy to work, easy to undo. They hold the top down perfectly. The item is well constructed and sturdy. You can write on the container in marker and clean it off if necessary. I am very pleased!....oh...and it's easy to scoup and level flour without making a mess. (Posted on 12/10/2015)
It is the perfect flour container Review by Diane
This container (1.85 ) holds 10 lbs of organic flour easily. It has a large secure lid. Four easy to work latches (one on each side) and because the lid comes off entirely scouping out cups of flour is EASY and not at all messy. It is airtight and totall waterproof!!Took me years to find this. I intend to buy one for bread flour. One for cornmeal and on for sugar...perhaps different sizes but for a young woman with a family....these will not only last forever but your adult children will thank you!!!! I only wish they were priced a bit lower....still they are worth sacrificng for!... (Posted on 12/4/2015)
Must-have investment for a healthy kitchen Review by Sarah
These are brilliant!! I have slowly been ridding my life of plastic and have finally begun attacking the freezer - not an easy task.

It took a while to change my original patterns of freezing in zip-lock bags but now that I have I LOOOVVE these!

They are perfect for storing my bone-broth portions. I freeze them in a silicone tray of 12 then transfer them to this to store. I stick a piece of masking tape on the front and mark what's in the tub so I don't have to keep checking - just make sure you do this before you put them in the fridge or freezer otherwise it won't stick! I'm still getting in the habit of remembering!

I also have other sizes in the same container - they too are brilliant for storing things like sorbet portions (great to add to smoothies). I buy excess organic berries, stone fruits etc that you don't get in winter, blend them, freeze in portions as noted above and store in these to add to smoothies later. Also great for meat and anything prepared really!

I love the shape, and I love that you can get them in lots of different sizes - perfect for measuring your freezer and working out how many you can fit. They clean up perfectly in the dishwasher although I don't need to clean them that often - maybe once every other month or so when I'm refilling the bin. I dedicate each bin to each thing. E.g. One for saving bones for bone broth etc. This also means I don't have to worry about storing them in the cupboard when not in use - because they are ALWAYS in use!

I'm now coming up with ways to store my individual steak portions in these. Thinking I need some kind of separator for each piece of meat and also need to come up with something to keep our excess air. Perhaps silicon mats cut to size? Hmmm. Let me know if you have any great ideas!

Life Without Plastic Response:

Wow, Sarah, thanks for all the feedback, and glad to hear the containers are working well for you. We LOOOVVE them too!

Regarding something to separate your pieces of meat, you might want to try the Abeego plastic-free wraps (https://www.lifewithoutplastic.com/store/catalogsearch/result/?q=abeego) - you could get a giant one and cut it to the sizes you want, or a bunch of the smaller ones might already be the right sizes for you. Hope that's helpful.

All the best,

Awesome for flour and I use a lot. Review by Alison
This is a great product. It is durable and air tight. I bought 2 of these for my flour- regular and wheat. They stack nicely and I wrote on them with permanent marker to label. It washes off well with alcohol. I love these and want to get another to store bread. (Posted on 2/9/2015)
I love it! It is so sturdy and large enough to hold two loaves of bread. Review by Pam
It was so good to receive an order packaged free of plastic!

I ordered this air tight stainless steel container and I love it! It is so sturdy and large enough to hold two loaves of bread. Yes, it is pricey but it is excellent quality, it won't rust and it should serve me well. I ordered one hemp and cotton bread bag, but I am ordering a second one as soon as they are in stock again. This is a brilliant solution to all those plastic bread bags. No more plastic bread bags!

I will recommend your site and this product to my friends and family. (Posted on 7/23/2014)
